Custom cabinets are built to your room's real dimensions — not adjusted to fit it. That matters most in kitchens with an unusual layout, an odd corner, or a wall length that doesn't match standard cabinet increments, where stock sizing would otherwise leave you with awkward gaps or wasted space.

What most people aren't told: custom cabinetry takes real lead time — it's built to order, so expect weeks, not days, before it arrives for install. It also costs meaningfully more than premade. If your layout is standard and your timeline is tight, premade with good fillers can look nearly as intentional for a lot less money and wait. Custom earns its cost when the room actually needs it.
