Rigid-core LVP and LVT (WPC or SPC core) are fully waterproof, so they can go anywhere in the house — including full bathrooms and kitchens — without the moisture caveats tile or wood carry. The wear layer resists scratches from pets and everyday traffic better than most other flooring at this price point.
What most people aren't told: it's a printed wood or stone look, not the real material — and some buyers, and some appraisers, still value real hardwood higher at resale. Underlayment matters more than people expect for how it sounds and feels underfoot; a cheap install without proper underlayment can feel hollow or "clacky." Click-lock (floating) installs faster, while glue-down feels more solid in high-traffic spaces.
